When people describe a casino, they will often paint a picture of a tall, towering skyscraper consisting of multiple floors filled to the brim with slot machines, poker tables and lavish bars. However, we live in a world in which the most extravagant experiences are sometimes tucked away in the smallest of spaces.

The fact that small casinos provide gamblers with a unique and intimate setting to enjoy their favorite pastime – while online casinos make it possible for them to play from the comfort of their home – suggests that the whole casino industry has evolved to equip bettors with a range of access points based on their mood and working life. In no particular order, we showcase some of the smallest casinos in the world.

North Cadbury Court

Based in Somerset, England, around 250 kilometers from London, lies one of the most exclusive casinos in the world. Hidden in the basement of a whimsical 400-year old estate, it only accommodates 30 people at a time. It’s located underground and primarily offers live-dealer games such as poker and roulette.

On ground level, you’re able to take advantage of the tennis course, golf course, lake, pool and spa, as well as enjoy accommodation in one of the 25 luxury bedrooms. This is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

Slots-A-Fun Casino

Known for being the smallest casino in Vegas, Slots-A-Fun casino opened its doors in 1971 and in 2009 was bought under the MGM umbrella.

Here you can enjoy craps, blackjack, slots and electronic table games. When you need a break from gambling, you can take a seat at the bar nestled inside, or try your luck at the glistening mini bowling alley.

Santa Ysabel

Located in North County, San Diego, Santa Ysabel is one of the world’s smallest casinos. Measuring a minute 600 square feet, it opened its doors in 2007 before closing again in 2014.

During its time, it was 30 times smaller than Las Vegas’ previous smallest casino and a whopping 1,000 times smaller than the world’s largest casino, The Venetian Macao.

Positioned inside a mini-market, it was known as a slot arcade. In its heyday, it had an ambitious 349 slot machines filling its small perimeters.

Deltin Caravelo Casino

It doesn’t often happen that you can phone a friend to boast about being on a floating casino. Well, if you’re on the Deltin Caravelo, you can. Cruising up and down the wonderful Mandovi River in Goa in India is this floating, fine-dining casino experience. When it comes to remote casino destinations, this one is right up there with the most surprising.

While enjoying spectacular views, you have the option of blackjack, poker, roulette and baccarat. It first set sail in 2014 and has since been revamped into a luxury boutique flotel.

Grosvenor Taxi Casino

Another little casino in the UK – and possibly the smallest casino in the world – is the Grosvenor Taxi casino. It has a blackjack table, dealer and bar all bundled into the back of a classic London taxicab. Created in 2016, it’s one of the unlikeliest places to find a casino.

Saloon

Boasting 75 slot machines and four blackjack tables within 3,000 square feet, this small casino based in Deadwood, South Dakota, provides gamblers with an all-around traveling experience.

Enjoy browsing through the mining artifacts of this historic town or have a taste of their fine wine and wonderful food. The town itself is also littered with lively whiskey bars offering live music almost every night.

Casino Palms

Another small casino based in Goa on the south coast of India, Casino Palms offers gamblers a relaxing getaway with their family and loved ones. Here you have the beach on your doorstep and luxurious resorts and hotels offering world-class accommodation.

Casino Palms opened its doors in 2001 and has everything from roulette and blackjack to poker and slots.

Macau Palace

The first little casino on our list from China is Macau Palace, which opened in 2006. Surrounded by bars, restaurants and live entertainment, this little casino offers a wide array of casino games to choose from, including poker, slots, blackjack and roulette.

Wildfire Casino & Lanes

Nestled in the iconic gambling strip of Las Vegas, Nevada, is another minuscule casino that goes by the name Wildfire Casino & Lanes. Measuring 10,000 square feet, you have access to bowling and all the dealer games and slot machines you can imagine. Having opened as recently as 2018, it’s one of Las Vegas’ latest additions.

AirJet Designs

Although it has yet to be designed, in 2015 French casino designers came up with the concept of creating a flying casino in a Boeing 777. The plan is for the lucky hostesses to provide the equally lucky passengers with luxury food and drinks as well as plenty of table games, ranging from poker to roulette and blackjack.
